About Us It all began in the 1980s growing up in the NorthWest suburbs of Chicago. I always had a fishing pole in my hand trenching around various ponds and rivers. In the down time when the fish were not biting I was looking for frogs, turtles, snakes, salamaders, crayfish or anything else that seemed cool. My siblings Shane, Chase and Brooke always enjoyed the same adventures with me. We always had some type of creature going home wtih us. We always found fun in nature. When I was in grade school the Brookfield Zoo did a show at my school. They brought a porcupine, racoon and a 20 something foot reticulated python. I will never forget petting the tail end of that monsterous snake thinking I want one of these. I was always fascinated with dinasours and reptiles. Then when I was in the six grade my teacher Mrs. Ranker had a classroom ball python "Reggie", she was looking to get rid of. To make a long story short I talked my parents into letting me get Reggie and to this day I still have her. She was an adult when I got her, so now she is over 20+ years old and is doing great. Then in 1999 I moved to Salt Lake City Utah. One of Americas hidden treasures. I was attending a drum circle at Liberty Park downtown SLC when some guy opened a rubbermaid garbage can and pulled out a 15 foot reticulated python. That brought me right back to when I was a kid seeing that snake really sparked something for me. I asked the guy were did you get that, he said you can buy them at Marks Ark a pet store. The next thing I knew I found myself at Marks Ark and an albino burmese caught my eye. In April 2000 I purchased a albino and normal burmese pythons. I was told they were both females which I wanted because I knew they grew larger, I kept them housed together in a large homemade enclosure. Which I know now housing together is a big no no. Anyways the normal seemed to be outgrowing the albino with the same feeding schedule. Well it turned out the albino was a male. In the fall of 2002 I saw them locked up and Jan 8th 2003 she laid 30 perfect eggs. Being a beginer I didnt know much. In August 2002 I attended the Salt Lake City Reptile Expo. I grabbed a card from a booth of the Python Breeders, local python enthusiasts. I needed advice so I made the call and talked to Mike Jenks. Mike was very informative and walked me through the whole process. March 8th thru the 15th I hatched out 24 of the 30 eggs. Talk about kid in the candy store. Mike and I have become really good friends over the years. Mike has produced some exceptional animals. In 2003 I purchased a pair of tripple heterozygous burmese granite/green/albino, and a granite het albino female and albino het granite male from Mike. These animals to date are some of my favorites in the collection. Mike is now the owner of Solar Serpents LLC. Thanks MIke for all your help and advice. At the time of all this happening I learned of a man named Bob Clark. Bob has made the cover of several Reptiles Magazines and has really been a inspiration to me. He alone is responsible for so many great morphs in herpoculture. Bob pat yourself on the back your the man! In Dec 2004 I married my 4 year girlfriend Susie. Susie has been very supportive in the whole process, lots of time spent with the animals instead of date nights. She is a big help at all the shows we attend. In 2004 my brother Chase joined up with me and our collection together has exploded. Chase has been the backbone to our company. We realized that to feed all of the animals we were keeping we needed to start raising our own feeders. We now raise rats, mice, african soft fur rats, gerbils, degus, rabbits, pigeons, and chickens to feed all of the snakes in our collection. In 2005 I had the great opportunity to work for Jeremy Stone. I helped out with the construction of his house and his snake breeding facility. Jeremy is a great guy with passion for his animals. We have recieved some incredible animals from Jeremy. When it comes to boas/balls look no further. Jeremy is the guy to talk to. In 2007 Living near Monroe WI, Its great being in such close distance to many reptile shows. We have been making a name for ourselves by attending many shows, were customers can see hands on the caliber of animals and service they should expect. 2007 was also the year we met Jeff Davis aka "BEAST". Jeff has been a volunteer at our facility in maintaining top notch care for the animals. Jeff Is building a nice ball python collection of his own. Thanks for all your hard work Jeff. Here we are in 2008, our collection exceeds over 300 snakes and growing. We love albinos and eventually would like to have an albino of every snake species we are working with. Thanks for reading and learning about us. Don't forget to check the virtual tour tab to see every snake in our collection. We have some really cool animals and every year is just going to get better. And for those of you wondering about the name Electric Chair Reptiles LLC. I wanted something catchy you wouldn't forget, get ready and strap into the electric chair cause your about to get shocked.
